Røkelsespinner brukes ved at man tenner fyr på en ende til det kommer en flamme. Lar det så brenne et par sekunder så ilden får tak, og så blåser ut flammen slik at det gjenstår en glo som det stiger opp røyk fra. Dersom det ikke er noen slik glo, tenn på nytt. Med røyken kommer også duften.

Den tynne enden av pinnen settes i dertil egnet røkelsesfat eller annen type holder på en brannsikker overflate. Sett pinnen slik at det stikker opp i luften og ikke ligger inntil noe. Obs at det vil falle aske ned så pass på duken!

De fleste typer røkelsespinner vi fører har en typisk brenntid på ca 20-30 minutter.

Står pinnen i trekk blir brenntiden kortere.

Hvilken retning pinnen står/ligger i har ikke noe å si.

Mange liker å brenne flere pinner samtidig, men det holder normalt med en pinne for å fylle et normalt stort rom med godlukt.
